Grayson Charles was born on June 12, 2013. He is the son of one of my very dearest/oldest friends. His mom and I were born about 9 months apart and have been friends ever since. Like started our own "Baby-Sitter's Club," played tricks on our siblings, and had crazy sleepovers weekly kind of friends. We were in each others weddings, and we still try to see each other as much as time and distance allows.
I say all that so that you will know just how special this little guy is to me.
We did this session when he was eight days old which was pretty perfect. The best newborn portraits are taken in the first ten days. We probably could have done them a little bit later since Grayson was born two weeks early, but I feel like he was the perfect age. He was old enough to be awake for a few shots and track us and give a few smiles, but he still had that sweet fetal curl and didn't mind being put into different posistions.
His mom was ready when we arrived with a few ideas and some really cute props that her coworkers had given Grayson. The session went better than I could have expected, and I am so very glad that we got to spend the afternoon with little Grayson!
Enjoy some images from Grayson's newborn session.
After the first few set-ups in Grayson's room, he got hungry, so we moved to the sitting room for some snuggle pictures with Mommy.
Grayson's grandparents were in town, so we made sure to get some pictures with them as well.
We made sure to get a few pictures of the complete family unit.
Grayson wanted a few pictures with just Daddy as well.
Once he was full, we took him outside for some sock monkey pictures. His mom had an antique wagon in his room that she wanted to use, and it turned out perfectly.
Since he was still sound asleep, we decided to try our hand at one more set-up.
We took him back inside to cool off from the Texas heat, and he woke up. He loves to watch his Mommy.
He is such a sweet boy.
